Biographical Information about District 5730 Governor, Ken Patterson

 

Meet our District Governor

     Ken has been married to Elyn, whom he met on a blind date while attending Texas Tech, for 48 years.  They are the proud parents of four children and three wonderful grandchildren.

    Ken graduated from Garland High School in Garland, TX in 1960.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Physics from Texas Tech University in 1964. 

 
    Ken retired from Exxon Chemicals after almost 33 years of service.  He held both management and professional sales positions in Oil Field Chemicals.

    Ken has been a member of the Metropolitan Lubbock Rotary Club since 1998. He has served D5730 in the position of AG and Co-District Youth Exchange Officer with Elyn.  Both are Paul Harris Fellows.  Ken and Elyn were honored as Rotarians of the Year in District 5730 for 2009 – 10.

Ken is a member of the Texas Association of Sports Officials and is the Assigning Secretary of the South Plains Chapter of Football Officials.  He retired from officiating in 2010 after calling both college and high school football games for 44 years.

 

     He is a member of the Coalition of Community Assistance Volunteers and also serves on the Board of Directors.  This organization prepares free Federal Income Tax returns for low income individuals and families.
