Rotarians George Valentine and Chuck Starnes deliver about 600 books and red noses to Thunderbird Elementary School in Plainview for "Read Across America Day 2016." The Plainview Rotary Club joined with the Hale County Literacy Council to encourage our elementary students to enjoy the gift of reading. Funded by gifts from Walmart, the Plainview Rotary Club, and the Plainview Area Endowment, the project delivered 3,100 grade-appropriate books to all of the pre-K through 5th graders in Plainview Independent School District and Plainview Christian Academy.
