Welcome to the Rotary Club of Plainview, TX. Founded in 1921, and this year celebrated 100 years.  We are one of the top clubs in the Panhandle and currently close to 60 members strong.
Serve  to Change Lives is the theme for 2021-2022.  Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for over 35 years, and our goal of ridding the earth of this disease is in sight.  There are only two countries where polio remains endemic.  There is no better time than the present to donate for such a great cause and to be a part of history. As often spoken and seen in print, “We are this close to ending polio.”
RI President Shekhar Mehta is urging members to become more involved in service projects, saying that caring for and serving other is the best way to live because it changes not only other people’s lives, but also our own.
Our Foundation which began with a humble amount of $26.50 has spent more than $3 billion on programs and projects that have touched and transformed many lives globally over its century of service.
The Plainview Rotary Club meets at noon every Tuesday at the Plainview ISD Board Room, 2409 Yonkers St., except on month's that have a 5th Tuesday.  The 5th Tuesdays are reserved for a service project or social.
We are indeed a Club of Service, as seen by our hashtag #ServiceInPlainView. Our slogan, ‘Service Above Self’ is demonstrated through our seven areas of focus: supporting education, providing clean water, promoting peace, saving mothers and children, growing local economies, fighting disease, and protecting the environment.  Locally  some of our projects include providing dictionaries for third graders throughout Hale County, awarding rewards for Perfect Attendance to students in Plainview ISD, volunteering for Meals on Wheels, sponsoring the local Boy Scout troop, and Salvation Army Red Kettle Bell at Christmas.  Our largest annual fundraiser is the Running Water Draw Arts and Crafts Festival which also helps to fund our student scholarship program. This event is held each year in October.
New international projects this year are Crutches 4 Africa where we are collecting mobility devices and Days for Girls in Agra, India.  Recognizing a senior high school student as Student of the Month during the school year and honoring a Rotarian of the Quarter are a few acknowledgements in our club.
Rotary club members strive to adhere to our 4-way test.  Of the things we think, say, or do:
1. Is it the truth?
2. Is it fair to all concerned?
3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
The Plainview Rotary Club is a vibrant TEAM you would be proud to be a part of. We invite you to join us and be a part of the oldest and largest service organization in the world.
